Saudi Arabia Ascends to Global No. 1 in Digital Readiness Index 2025
Saudi Arabia has achieved a historic milestone by securing the first rank globally in the 2025 Digital Readiness Index, issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Scoring 94 out of 100 within the "Very High" category, the Kingdom surged from its previous fourth-place ranking, reflecting a rapid and unprecedented acceleration in its digital transformation journey.
The ITU index, a premier global benchmark, evaluated the Kingdom across 117 sub-indicators spanning nine key pillars, including regulatory maturity and technical legislation. This achievement underscores the success of Saudi Arabia’s integrated digital strategy, which prioritizes a data-driven ecosystem and a robust telecommunications infrastructure. By fostering a world-class regulatory environment, the Kingdom has solidified its position as a global leader in tech innovation and digital governance, aligning with the ambitious goals of Vision 2030.
